IF YOU SAY YOU BELIEVE IN Jesus

Ask yourself these 3 questions and answer honestly...

QUESTION #1...

Tomorrow is never promised. If you were to die today, on a scale of 1-10, how sure are you that you would go to heaven?

10

Ask yourself, why am I a 10?If Jesus were to ask you why should I let you in, what would you say?

Think about your answer before you continue reading....

Now, what was your answer?

Did your answer have anything to do with you?

OR did it have to do with what Jesus did for you?

Be honest.

If your answer had anything to do with you, then you should be concerned. Why?

Ephesians 2:8-9 reads, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."

Salvation is nothing we could ever earn. We GET to receive salvation through belief and repentance. BUT, It's only by the cross we can ever have assurance in our salvation, not of our works.

Less than 10

If your answer was anything lower than a 10, ask yourself why?- Typically it's one of two reasons. Which one are you?

#1-> Is it because your life wouldn't be pleasing to God?

If so, you should be concerned. Why?

Because 1 John 3:9 reads, "Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life is in them."

Not that you would be perfect, BUT, as a child of God, you will not live in cycles of sin. This is why we REPENT- turn from our sins and turn to Jesus.

#2-> Is it because "no one can be sure"?

If so, then why don't you believe that the sacrifice of Jesus was not enough to forgive all of your sins?

To put it bluntly that's basically what you are saying when you say you can't be sure. I AM sure that the blood of Jesus was more than enough to cover ALL of my sin, and because I repent (turn from sin and turn to Jesus) and do not live in cycles of habitual sin then, I have been forgiven. He paid the debt for YOUR sins so that you could have assurance.

1 John 5:11-13 states,

"And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life."

We can have assurance. You will know when the Holy Spirit has come to live within you. The Holy Spirit is the GUARANTEE of our salvation (Ephesians 1:13-14).

QUESTION #2...

You say you know Jesus, but does He know you?

There is a difference in knowing about someone and actually knowing them.

Think about it this way: Someone can tell you facts about Michael Jordan and know his life story, but do they actually know Michael Jordan personally?

In the same manner, do you know Jesus personally? Or do you just know mere facts about Him? Would He say that He knows you?

John 10:27 states,

"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand."

Matthew 7:21-23 states,

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’"

Even good works do not prove your relationship with Jesus. They are a part of it. We do good works because we love Jesus (John 14:15), but works will never earn our salvation. It's a free gift (Eph. 2:8-9)! It's a relationship with Jesus!

QUESTION #3...

Would your life be pleasing to God?

James 2:19 states,

"You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!"

By this we also know that belief, in itself, is NOT enough- even the demons believe! So, if even the demons believe, what makes our belief different?

We must first, BELIEVE, but also second, REPENT, which means to turn from sin and turn to Jesus! Your life must              reflect Jesus. Would He be pleased with how you are living?

John 14:15 states, "If you love me, you will keep my commandments."

2 Corinthians 5:17 states, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."

1 John 1:6 states,

"If we say we have fellowship with Him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth."

True Christians- ones that TRULY love God and have given their lives to Him, do NOT make a practice of sinning.

Then, please read below...

NOW'S THE TIME TO MAKE A DECISION...

You're either ALL in or ALL out.

Revelation 3:15-16 reads, “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth."

It's YES or NO- no decision at all is a decision.

You are not promised tomorrow. Do not wait. Jesus said NOW is the time of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2).

He's knocking at the door of your heart awaiting you to open to give yourself COMPLETELY to Him. You believe, but that in itself is not enough.

Are you ready to turn from your sin and give Jesus your entire life?
