If you say there is a god but NOT Jesus

Read below to test if your way is the right way...

Every religion listed below are works-based religions- it's about achieving this unrealistic expectation of perfection by our deeds and actions that we can never attain. We can be "good" people, but ultimately "there's not one that's good but God"(Mark 10:18). We all fail, whether we like to admit it or not.  You may not have killed someone, but you've lied right? Or dishonored your parents? Or lusted? And the list could go on....

Jesus fulfilled this perfection for us and took our place to allow us to receive this FREE GIFT of salvation. Ephesians 2:8-9 reads, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."

Every other religion has an impersonal god, BUT Jesus actually desires to know His creation and have a relationship with them. That's why He died! 1 John 3:16 reads, "By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us."

JUDAISM

In the Christian point of view, Jewish people are merely living in the Old Covenant (Old Test.). Judaism teaches the Old Testament- but what is not taught is that Jesus is the Messiah, and that the Old Testament that they read ALL points to Jesus. If you consider yourself a Jew, put your beliefs to the test. If you're sure, your way is the right way, then you have nothing to lose by reading further, and can prove me wrong! But maybe, just maybe, here, your eyes will be opened and you'll gain everything. Click through the slides below to read more....

Salvation Through Family?

Jesus says in Romans 9:6-8, "For they are not all Israel who are of Israel, nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, 'In Isaac your seed shall be called.' That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted as the seed."

Just because you are born from the seed of Abraham, does not make you a child of God! Your genealogy can not save you- only Jesus can!

Prophecy #9

PROPHECY:

Messiah will be resurrected (Psalm 16:10).

FULFILLMENT:

“[David], foreseeing this spoke concerning the resurrection of Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption. This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses.” (Acts 2:31-32).

#1 What do you think happens after we die?

Do you believe Heaven exists?

#2 If Heaven exists, do you think you will go?

Are you good enough to get there?

#3 Have you kept the law of Moses?

Describe the item or answer the question so that site visitors who are interested get more information. You can emphasize this text with bullets, italics or bold, and add links.

#4 Let's look through a few of the commandments and see how you do...

How many lies do you think you've told in your life?

->Lots, probably, right? We all have- some more than others, but truth is that we all have told a lie.

-> Scripture tells us that "lying lips are an abomination to the Lord."(Proverbs 12:22).

Jesus said, "Whoever looks at a woman with lust has committed adultery with her in his heart." (Matthew 5:28). Have you ever done that?

Have you ever taken the Lord's name in vain? Even just once?

Have you ever dishonored your parents? Even Just once?

#5 And you have to face God on judgment day. If He judges you according to the Ten Commandments, will you be innocent or guilty? Will you go to heaven or hell?

According to the law of Moses, we'd all go to hell. We've all broken at least one of the commands.

Does this concern you that if you died right now, you would go to hell?

#6 Here's the good news though- you don't have to accept that fate.

- Just as God delivered the Israelites from slavery, He wants to deliver us from the penalty of our sin!

- Just as God protected the Israelites from the Angel of Death by putting lamb's blood on their doorposts (Exodus 12:12-13), He wants to save you by the blood of His son, Jesus! John the Baptist says of Jesus in John 1:29, "Behold the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world."

Jesus died on the cross to cover ALL of our sins- to save us from the penalty of sin, and also to have a relationship with you because it is what separates us from Him (a Holy God cannot be in the presence of sin).

But He did not stay dead, but he is alive today asking you to receive HIS FREE GIFT of salvation.

NOW IT'S TIME TO MAKE A DECISION...

After hearing...

- What Jesus did for YOU

- How salvation is a FREE gift (one that we don't have to work to attain, but simply receive)

- What to do to attain salvation (believe & repent)

Will you receive the FREE payment for your sins and the FREE gift of salvation?

Will you say YES to Jesus and Jesus alone today?

JEHOVAH'S WITNESS

Jehovah's Witness teaches that they worship the "true" God of the Bible. Let's take a look at the holes in this thinking. If you consider yourself a Jehovah's Witness, put your beliefs to the test. If you're sure, your way is the right way, then you have nothing to lose by reading further, and can prove me wrong! But maybe, just maybe, here, your eyes will be opened and you'll gain everything. Click through the slides below to read more....

The NEW WORLD Translation???

The Jehovah's Witness religion created their own translation of the Bible- The New World Translation.

They took the original translation of the Bible, that Christians use today, and have altered the Scriptures.

Deuteronomy 4:2 reads, "You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you."

This scripture clearly refutes the idea of altering scripture from the original translation, as Jehovah's Witness have done.

And this scripture is actually the same in the New World Translation from which Jehovah's Witness read. So why is this command still not applicable to the Jehovah's Witness religion?

One example of an altered scripture within the New World translation in comparison to the original translation of the Bible is John 1:1->

ORIGINAL translation: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

NEW WORLD translation: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god.

This portion of Scripture was altered to fit the Jehovah's Witness belief that God was once a created being and that we too can work our way to be gods. BUT the original translation, the TRUTH, is that the Word is God, period. There is none like Him. None could compare. The Word is not merely "a" god, but "THE" God of all.

JW BELIEFS VS THE BIBLE >>>

The Bible is the VERY breath of God (2 Timothy 3:16) and is infallible (incapable of being wrong or mistaken). It can NOT be disregarded or changed/altered. The Bible is THE most accurate book in HISTORY.

Since the Bible is the MOST accurate book in HISTORY and is the very breath of God, then every Word in it is considered the TRUTH, and anything apart from this TRUTH is a lie. Let's compare just a few beliefs of what Jehovah's Witness has taught to what the Word of God says. Click through the tabs below...

Belief #1

JW BELIEF: "There is no hell."

THE BIBLE: Scripture proves that hell is a very real place.

"But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.” - Revelation 21:8

Also find more scriptures about hell in Matthew 10:28, Matthew 25:41, 46, Pslam 9:17, 2 Thessalonians 2:9, Matthew 13:50, Ezekiel 18:20, etc.

Belief #2

JW BELIEF: "Jesus is not God in the flesh." "Jesus is a created being and was Michael the archangel before He came to Earth."

THE BIBLE: Scripture proves that Jesus is GOD in the flesh.

"Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross." - Philippians 2:5-8

Also find more scripture about Jesus as God in the flesh in John 1:14, Colossians 2:9, Colossians 1:15, John 10:30, John 20:31, John 3:31, Romans 8:3, etc.

Belief #3

JW BELIEF: "There is no trinity"

THE BIBLE: Scripture proves that the trinity is Biblical- that God is 3 in 1.

"For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form," - Colossians 2:9

"Then God said, 'Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness'" - Genesis 1:26

Also find more scripture about the trinity in John 10:30, Matthew 28:18-20, 2 Corinthians 13:14, etc.

Belief #4

JW BELIEF: "Jesus did not die on a cross, but was executed on a 'torture stick'."

THE BIBLE: Scripture proves that Jesus was crucified on a cross. History also proves this.

"And He, bearing His cross, went out to a place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha, where they crucified Him, and two others with Him, one on either side, and Jesus in the center."- John 19:17-18

Also find more scripture about Jesus' death on the cross in Matthew 27:32-44, Mark 15:21-32, Luke 23:26-43, Matthew 26:2, Acts 5:30, etc.

Belief #5

JW BELIEF: "Jesus only partially atoned for our sin."

THE BIBLE:  Scripture proves that Jesus paid for/ atoned for ALL of our sins.

"who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness" - 1 Peter 2:24

"And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world." - 1John 2:2

Also find more scripture on the atonement of our sin by Jesus in Romans 6:10, Hebrews 9:12, Revelation 5:9, 1 Peter 3:18, etc.

Belief #6

JW BELIEF: "We can have no assurance for our salvation."

THE BIBLE: Scripture proves that as Christians, we can have assurance for our salvation.

"Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him." - John 3:36

"I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life." -1 John 5:13

Also fund more scripture on assurance of salvation in Romans 10:9, John 3:16, John 8:31-32, Romans 8:16, etc.

Belief #7

JW BELIEFS: "Only the 144,000 will enter the Pearly Gates."

THE BIBLE: Scripture proves that Salvation and eternity in Heaven with Jesus is for ALL.

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes." -Romans 1:16

"God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth."- 1 Timothy 2:3-4

"In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also." - John 14:2-3

Belief #8

JW BELIEFS: "The Holy Spirit is not a person but simply an active force of God."

THE BIBLE:  Scripture proves that the Holy Spirit is a person.

"These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. "- John 14:25-26

Also find more scripture on the Holy Spirit as a person in Ephesians 1:11-14, Romans 8:26-27, Acts 8:29, Acts 15:28, Ephesians 4:30, etc.

Belief #9

JW BELIEF: "I must work to earn forgiveness for present/future sins."

THE BIBLE: Scripture proves that salvation is NOT by works.

"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."- Ephesians 8-9

Also find more scripture on salvation by grace through faith and not by works in Romans 5:20-21, Titus 3:5, Galatians 2:16, Romans 11:6, Romans 3:24, etc.

NOW, answer these questions...

Flip through these questions and answer honestly...

#1 Let's say I have a knife in my back and only have 3 minutes to live, how can I enter the Kingdom?

By your beliefs, I'd assume you would say to live a good life, learn about Jehovah, go door to door, help people, pray, etc.

But I can not do anything. I only have 3 minutes. I don't have time to change and live a "good life".

I could assume by your beliefs, there is nothing you could do to help me. I don't have enough time to work to earn my salvation.

#2 Think of the thief on the cross...

The thief said he was "justly condemned" (Luke 23:41). He was hanging on the cross, with death approaching at any moment. He had no time to do good deeds to earn his salvation to atone for his sin. Yet Jesus said in Luke 23:43, "Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”

#3 Do you think you are a good person

The Bible says that there's not one that's good but God (Mark 10:18).

#4 Let's put your "goodness" to the test:

How many lies do you think you've told in your life?

->Lots, probably, right? We all have- some more than others, but truth is that we all have told a lie.

-> Scripture tells us that "lying lips are an abomination to the Lord."(Proverbs 12:22).

Jesus said, "Whoever looks at a woman with lust has committed adultery with her in his heart." (Matthew 5:28). Have you ever done that?

Have you ever taken the Lord's name in vain? Even just once?

Have you ever dishonored your parents? Even Just once?

#5 You must face God on judgment day. If God judges you by the ten commandments (such as the ones above), will you be innocent or guilty?

We'd all be guilty. There's not one person that hasn't sinned, except Jesus.

Therefore, by the Ten Commandments, we all deserve hell.

#6 Think of it like this:

Let's say this man murdered 3 men. He stands in front of the judge and says "Judge, I know that was wrong. But I served at the soup kitchen last Tuesday, helped an old lady cross the street yesterday, and bought a homeless man a meal last week." Then the judge releases them because they did all these "good deeds". We'd say that's not a very good judge, right? Right. They may be a "good person" in some ways and be sorry and change their ways after, but they still have to endure the punishment.

In the same way, we have sinned and must endure our punishment. Good works will never atone for our sins. Only Jesus can! This is the bad news: We've all sinned and we all deserve the punishment for our sins, which is hell (Revelation 21:8, Matthew 10:28, Matthew 25:41, 46, Pslam 9:17, 2 Thessalonians 2:9, Matthew 13:50, Ezekiel 18:20, etc.).

NOW IT'S TIME TO MAKE A DECISION...

After hearing...

- What Jesus did for YOU

- How salvation is a FREE gift (one that we don't have to work to attain, but simply receive)

MORMONISM

Mormonism teaches that it is a religion that is classified as "Christianity", but there are many holes in this thinking. The belief is that the Bible is from God, but must be read in the King James Version, "insofar as it is translated correctly"- for most Mormons believe the Bible can not be fully trusted, so they also have what is called the Book of Mormon that they trust more than the Word of God itself. To read more on the historical accuracy of the Word of God, click here: scientific/historical evidence, and reference the "Historical Evidence" slide. If you consider yourself a Mormon, put your beliefs to the test. If you're sure, your way is the right way, then you have nothing to lose by reading further, and can prove me wrong! But maybe, just maybe, here, your eyes will be opened and you'll gain everything. Check out the slides below to see evidence of the TRUTH...

Saved by works or by faith?

The Mormonism belief is that we must do works to attain "full salvation".

The belief is that all go to heaven, but few will attain the highest level of heaven called the "celestial" heaven, which is where God and Jesus reside.

For Mormons, it's about a lifelong labor to earn salvation, hoping it's good enough.

BUT, by JESUS, according to the Word of God, it is not salvation by works, but by faith. Check out these scriptures below that reaffirm that salvation is by grace through faith

Ephesians 2:8-9 - "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."

Titus 3:5-7 - "not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life."

AND, you can have assurance. You don't have to "hope" you make it in on judgment day, but by grace through faith and living a life of repentance (turning from sin and turning to Jesus), you can KNOW.

1 John 5:11-13 states, "And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life."

Angel of light??

Let's first look at how Mormonism was founded....

Joseph Smith says that "an angel clothed in light" delivered the gold plates that held the scriptures of the Book of Mormon. Notice the interesting description of the "angel of light".

2 Corinthians 11:13-14 reads, "For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light."

Maybe Joseph Smith's testament of an angel appearing to him is true, but according to this scripture, if this encounter was true, then it was Satan disguising himself as an angel of light.

How do we know it was Satan disguising himself as an angel of light?- Because Satan is the father of all lies (John 8:44) AND Scripture is THE TRUTH (John 17:7). Therefore, let's line up what was given to Joseph Smith to Scripture. If it doesn't line up with the WORD of GOD, then it wasn't from God to begin with. Keep reading through the slides to see Joseph Smith's teachings lined up with God's teachings...

Since the Bible is the MOST accurate book in HISTORY and is the very breath of God, then every Word in it is considered the TRUTH, and anything apart from this TRUTH is a lie. Let's compare just a few beliefs of what Joseph Smith has taught to what the Word of God says. Click through the tabs below...

Belief #1

MORMONISM BELIEF:  Jesus is a mortal man who became God and showed that all men can do the same.

BIBLE: Jesus is 100% God and 100% human, and we as mere humans can NEVER become like God in any way.

- Philippians 2:6-7 - "Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being."

- John 10:30- "I and My Father are one.”

There are many verses clearly stated in the Bible that teach that God does NOT change and that there is NONE like Him.

- Malachi 3:6 - "For I am the Lord, I do not change;.."

- Isaiah 44:6 - "Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel, And his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: ‘I am the First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God.'"

- Isaiah 43:10 - "'You are My witnesses,' says the Lord, 'And My servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, nor shall there be after Me.'"

- Isaiah 46:9 - "Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me."

- Hebrews 13:8 - "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever."

Belief #2

MORMONISM BELIEF: There is no hell.

BIBLE: Hell is a very real place.

- Revelation 21:8- "But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

- 1 Thessalonians 2:8-9- "in flaming fire, bringing judgment on those who don’t know God and on those who refuse to obey the Good News of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with eternal destruction, forever separated from the Lord and from his glorious power."

Also find more scriptures about hell in Matthew 10:28, Matthew 25:41, 46, Pslam 9:17, Matthew 13:50, Ezekiel 18:20, etc.

Belief #3

MORMONISM BELIEF: Jesus atoned for the effects of Adam's sin, attaining general salvation (there is no hell). However, Jesus did not atone for future sins, so you must still work to earn salvation in the "celestial level of heaven where Jesus and the Father reside.

BIBLE: Jesus' blood/body and His sacrifice on the cross atoned for ALL of our sins, therefore it is a GIFT, and is not something that is earned. There are also not different levels of heaven that we attain in salvation. Jesus died to be with us.

- Romans 5:17- "For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is God’s wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ." -

- 1 John 2:2- "He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world."

- Ephesians 2:8-9- "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."

- Luke 23:42- "And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.” - The thief on the cross is the perfect picture of what the FREE GIFT of salvation looks like. The thief was justly condemned (Luke 23:41). He did not have time to work to do anything to earn salvation from Jesus, yet Jesus said you will be WITH ME in paradise. Works are definitely still apart of your walk with Jesus (1 John 3:9), however, you do so because you love Him (John 14:6), not because you have to work to attain anything. The thief simply received the FREE GIFT.

Belief #4

MORMONISM BELIEF:  Jesus is not God incarnate.

BIBLE: The Bible clearly shows Jesus' divinity and His humanity. He is God seen from the beginning.

- Matthew 1:23- "'Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,' which is translated, 'God with us.'"

- John 10:30- "I and My Father are one.”

- Colossians 2:90- "For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily"

- John 8:58- "Jesus said to them, 'Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.'"

Belief #5

MORMONISM BELIEF:  Jesus is Lucifer's brother

BIBLE: Firstly, there is no verse in the Bible that you can even remotely get that Jesus and Lucifer are brothers. Jesus is God, and Satan is one of His creations. They are not equal nor even closely related.

- John 10:30- "I and My Father are one.”- Jesus is made equal with God.

- Colossians 1:16- "For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him."- He CREATED ALL things, including Satan.

Satan is a fallen angel, and Jesus is God. The Bible very clearly shows they are NOT brothers.

Flip through these questions and answer honestly...

#1 After you die, do you think you'll go to heaven?

According to your beliefs, what level of heaven?

#2 Have you kept the 10 commandments? Let's look through a few of the commandments to see how you do...

How many lies do you think you've told in your life?

->Lots, probably, right? We all have- some more than others, but truth is that we all have told a lie.

We'd all be guilty. There's not one person that hasn't sinned, except Jesus.

Therefore, by the Ten Commandments, we all deserve hell.

#4 You may be saying "But I've repented", however, think of it like this:

#5 You may say, "Well we believe in Jesus." But do you believe the Jesus of the Bible?

- If you believe Jesus is Lucifer's brother, it is not the Jesus of the Bible.

- If you believe you must still work to earn salvation, it is not the Jesus of the Bible. Jesus' suffering and atonement for us on the cross was MORE than enough. (Titus 3:5)

- If you believe Jesus was not God in the flesh, it is not the Jesus of the Bible. (Colossians 2:9-10)

To be saved, you simply must put your faith and trust in ONLY Jesus and not in works. Good works will proceed from TRUE faith. Works does not produce faith, but faith will produce works.

Jesus says in John 14:15, "If you love Me, keep My commandments." - Notice the order- it's from love that works are produced.

#6 THIS IS WHY JESUS REALLY DIED:

Jesus came to suffer and die for the sin of the world- which separated us from Him. We broke God's Law (the Ten Commandments) but because Jesus paid our debt on the cross, God forgives us. Jesus became human- 100% God and 100% human, and gave His life on the cross for us. This means that God forgives us and our case is dismissed. Romans 5:8 reads, "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." God proved His love for you through the cross. Then, Jesus rose and defeated death, hell, and the grave. However, to    receive this free payment of Jesus' sacrifice for our sins, there's two things you must do:

1) BELIEVE IN JESUS ALONE because Romans 10:9 reads, "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." but not only believe because even the demons believe (James 2:19).

2) REPENT which means to simply turn from your sin and turn to Jesus.

In believing and repenting, you are made a NEW creation (2 Corinthians 5:17) with a new heart (Ezekiel 36:26). TRUST IN JESUS ALONE, NOT GOOD WORKS.

Are you ready to turn from your sins and turn to Jesus?

BUDDHISM

Buddhism is the world's fourth-largest religion. It has developed into a variety of different forms and differs based on the individual's beliefs-  however the one consistent belief among every Buddhist is that all share a great respect for the teachings of Buddha, or as they refer to him as "The Enlightened One". If you consider yourself a Buddhist, put your beliefs to the test. If you're sure, your way is the right way, then you have nothing to lose by reading further, and can prove me wrong! But maybe, just maybe, here, your eyes will be opened and you'll gain everything. Click through the slides below to read more....

Buddha did WHAT??

Buddhism was first established in 5th century BC by an Indian prince named Siddhartha Gautama. Guatama lived a sheltered life until he went on a journey and saw a sick man, an old man, a poor man, and a corpse-to which he said he had a revelation of life that "nothing lasted" and "people desired to hold onto life, health, possessions, and each other but all these things pass away, which cause suffering".

In response to this "revelation" or "enlightenment", on his 29th birthday, Gautama left his wife and infant son to search for the "truth and meaning of life". After six years of wandering around and experimenting with yoga, and asceticism, and nearing starvation, Gautama sat beneath a tree and vowed not to move until he attained this "enlightenment" and "truth" he was searching for. After days of not moving from beneath this tree, Gautama        said he finally attained this enlightenment and was thence known as Buddha- "The Enlightened One".

The remaining 45 years of his life were spent teaching "the path to liberation from suffering (dharma) and establishing a community of monks (the sangha). Over the past 2,500 years, Buddhism has evolved into different sects and beliefs but all share great respect for Buddha's teachings (the Sutras and Tripitaka).

After reading what Buddha did, think about this...

The one called "Enlightened", who founded/created Buddhism, and the one who wrote the teachings Buddhism is built upon is a man who abandoned his wife and infant son.

BUT JESUS, the Man that Christianity is founded on, left HEAVEN (perfection) to come to Earth, put on flesh and became like us, just to die a death that we deserved. He took our place, and then rose again all to offer us life in and with Him- to remove the separation of sin to have a relationship with Him!

Phillipians 2:5-8, "Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross."

There is not ONE thing selfish about Jesus. He is the essence of humility- giving all for us.

Buddha left and abandoned his family, but Jesus, left perfection to come to you. Jesus tells tells us He will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5).

Also, logically and scientifically, to near starvation, oftentimes delusions and hallucinations begin to occur. I would also imagine that after six years of wandering around trying out different practices, nearing starvation, and not much socialization or civilization, Gautama's mind began to run rampant, and delusions/hallucinations began to occur. After six years of wandering and who knows how many days sitting under a tree with no food or water, it's very likely that Gautama was not in a good mental state.

Endless Cycle...

One Buddhist teaching is karma. The Buddhist belief of karma is that the individual that dies is reincarnated as someone else. The previous individual's achievements will continue on into their next life.

They teach that the person continues, but there is no soul. - Don't you find this a bit contradicting? How can one continue on without a soul?

Under karma, there is no appeal, mercy, or escape- except through unending efforts at self perfection. Through endless lifetimes, Buddhists endure a cycle of suffering.

The goal of Buddhism is to remove their karmic debt and end the cycle of rebirth by achieving perfection and extinguishing the flame of life and entering a permanent state of nonexistence (Nirvana). Therefore, their goal is not life, but death (extinction). The reward for "perfection" (if that is ever attained) is to cease to exist- which is believed to be achieving liberation and freedom from suffering.

To achieve Nirvana you must believe the 4 Noble Truths and follow the eightfold path (**see image**)

It's ONLY by following these principles stated above that one can reach "Nirvana" and escape the cycle of karma/ reincarnation. The truth is, however, that we can not reach perfection.

So, do you really have peace seeing as you're stuck in this endless cycle of life and rebirth?

Is the purpose of life really to have you stuck in such an endless cycle to mindlessly devote yourself to achieving perfection- all for the goal of ceasing to exist?

FAQ image

THINK ON THESE THINGS...

If Jesus is fully enlightened, wouldn't he be teaching the truth about himself?

Most Buddhists would consider Jesus to be an Enlightened Master, though not the Son of God.

In fact, the famous Dalai Lama (one of the most famous Buddhist teachers), believes that Jesus is "a fully enlightened being".

If He's teaching the truth, then He is the Son of God.

Mark 14:61-62, "But Jesus was silent and made no reply. Then the high priest asked him, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?” Jesus said, “I Am. And you will see the Son of Man seated in the place of power at God’s right hand and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

If He's teaching the truth, then we are saved not by works, but by grace through faith!

Ephesians 2:8-9, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."

If He's teaching the truth, then by the blood of Jesus we GET to have a relationship with Him. He desires to know us!

Ephesians 2:13- "But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ."

Revelation 3:18- "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. "

If Jesus is fully enlightened then He is teaching the truth and if He's not teaching the truth then why would He be considered enlightened?

There are many other unanswered questions in Buddhism. Here are just a few more to ponder on...

- Who is in charge of giving out bodies at reincarnation?

- What criteria does whoever in charge use for doing so?- how many good deeds are enough or vice versa?

- What were you in your past life to merit what life you have now?

- Do you actually believe that you can achieve this perfection that is expected to reach nirvana?

- Why reach nirvana and extinguish the flame of life? What's the point?

And the list could go on....

WHY WOULD I EVEN GIVE JESUS A CHANCE?

Assurance

Buddhism offers no hope or assurance. - Why you work and do good deeds in life is to earn a chance to just not exist one day?

BUT JESUS is not a distant god in the sky, but a PERSONAL GOD who desires a relationship with you. - so what's the end goal with Jesus? - It's not that we just don't exist one day, but we GET to spend eternity with Jesus in Heaven!

Perfection

According to the Buddhist belief of karma- we are stuck in a cycle of trying to rid ourselves of "sin" or doing bad deeds. The truth is, we'll never end the cycle of rebirth because none of us are perfect and we all fail- whether it's minor things or major things.

BUT JESUS was perfect. He fulfilled perfection for us, knowing we never could on our own. THEN He took our punishment so that we wouldn't have to pay it.

- "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 6:23

- "And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin."- 1 John 3:5

Jesus paid the price we deserved to offer us freedom and salvation in Him!

Freedom and Hope

You will never reach perfection. And trying to attain perfection because of Buddhist beliefs will leave you with questions and leave you hopeless in an endless cycle of suffering.

BUT JESUS gives you hope. And it's a belief that can be backed up by verifiable proof.

#1 What do you think happens after death?

According to your beliefs: reincarnation or nirvana (extinguishing the flame of life)

#2 How do you think you're doing morally in this life to merit towards the next?

Do you think you're a good person?

#3 Let's put your goodness to the test...

How many lies do you think you've told in your life?

Lots, probably, right? We all have- some more than others, but truth is that we all have told a lie.

Have you ever looked upon someone with lust?

Have you ever gossiped?

Have you ever dishonored/ disobeyed anyone? Even Just once?

I would wager to guess that you've done most if not all of those plus much more. We all have! None of us are perfect and we all fail.

None of us can fulfill perfection. So then, if reincarnation is the truth, it comes to this endless cycle of reincarnation we can't get out of.

#4 Think of it like this:

Let's say this man murdered 3 men. He stands in front of the judge and says "Judge, I know that was wrong. In the same way, we have sinned and must endure our punishment. Good works will never atone for our sins. Only Jesus can! This is the bad news: We've all sinned and we all deserve the punishment for our sins, which is hell.

#5 This is the GOOD news...

Jesus came and took our place!

We stood in the courtroom awaiting our punishment and Jesus said "No, I'll take the punishment for them."

Jesus fulfilled perfection for us because we aren't perfect and can not on our own. He took our place! Jesus was mocked, beaten, whipped, crucified, and suffered taking the punishment of our sins. We sinned, but Jesus fulfilled perfection and fulfilled the Law and paid our penalty with His life's blood.

Now, He is alive today offering us this FREE gift. This means that now, we simply must receive this FREE gift of salvation that Jesus is offering to us. We do this by

#1 - believing in Jesus alone (Romans 10:9)

#2 - repenting, which means to simply turn from our sin and turn to Jesus..

HINDUISMu

Hinduism is the world's third-largest religion and has no defined beginning or no known founder. Hinduism teaches the "caste" system of ranking, karma, Brahman, etc. In its fullness, Hinduism teaches you must work and do good deeds to gain good "karma", yet never knowing if it's enough for blessings in the next life or "moksha" (oneness with Brahman)- leaving its followers hopeless and unassured. If you consider yourself a Hindu, put your beliefs to the test. If you're sure, your way is the right way, then you have nothing to lose by reading further, and can prove me wrong! But maybe, just maybe, here, your eyes will be opened and you'll gain everything. Read through the info presented below...

330 Million VS One...

Hinduism teaches that there is one supreme God, called Brahman, or the “ultimate reality.” Brahman is everything—the universe and all that’s in it. God is in everything, and everything is God, including us. Humans, too, are seen as part of this divine reality.

Hinduism also has many gods and goddesses. These are just different forms of Brahman. In this framework, even Jesus can be viewed as a form of the divine. Almost anything—nature, animals, or people—can be considered a god.

Therefore, Hinduism encompasses approximately 330 million gods and goddesses for worship. Central to this belief is the idea that all paths ultimately lead to God. Since anything can be regarded as a deity, what exactly is this “universal” God they refer to? In essence, it is the universe itself.

BUT Jesus says,

"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." - John 14:6

"Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." - Acts 4:12"You shall have no other gods before Me." - Exodus 20:3

Jesus makes it clear. He is the ONLY WAY.

Do you really believe anything can be a god? If so, how can you possibly believe anything from anyone? Because then if you can believe Jesus is God, why don't you believe Him?

The Ranks...

The Hindu society teaches and is based upon what is called the "caste" system. This system ranks individuals by their occupational status.

1. Brahmins- priests

2. Kshatriyas- soldiers, king-warrior class

3. Vaishyas- merchants, farmers, laborers, craftspeople

4. Harijahns- the "untouchables"

The higher the rank, the more blessed with benefits and luxuries that life has to offer. This system was outlawed in 1948, but is still important to the Hindu society.

BUT, Jesus tells us that:

"So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them." - Genesis 1:27

"Then Peter opened his mouth and said: 'In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality.'" - Acts 10:34

"For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.'"- Romans 10:12-13

Jesus tells His followers that He shows no favoritism (Acts 10:34). Everyone was created in His image (Genesis 1:27), so no one is greater than another. The same God offers His blessings and salvation to everyone who calls on Him (Romans 10:12-13).

Impersonal VS Personal

With there being 330 million gods/goddesses, what is our purpose in life? Why would the universe create us?- to do good deeds and worship anything and everything?

Hindus can never know the gods/goddesses they worship intimately. There's not one personal god to have a relationship with. It's an impersonal relationship and devotion unto a god that doesn't love you - merely "hoping", never fully assured, that the god will release them from the reincarnation/karma cycle.

BUT JESUS says...

"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." - Romans 5:8

"And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent." - John 17:3

"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. " - Revelation 3:20

Jesus is God above all, yet He wants a personal relationship with each of us. He created us to know and love Him. Even while we were still sinners, He died for us, paying the debt we could not. All we have to do is “open the door” and receive Him.

WHY WOULD I EVEN GIVE JESUS A CHANCE?

Hindu Belief

KARMA:

Karma is a Hindu teaching known as the "law of cause and effect". This is the belief is that individuals create their own destiny through thoughts, words, and deeds- where good actions lead to good consequences and bad actions lead to bad consequences. They believe that karma is not accounted for in this lifetime, but carries over into the future.

Hinduism teaches reincarnation, meaning we live another life after this one based on our karma. If someone lived a good life and did good deeds, they may be born into a higher caste. If they lived badly, they could be born into a lower caste—or even as an animal. Because of this belief, there is less emphasis on compassion, since suffering is often seen as the result of past-life actions.

The goal of Hinduism is to remove their karmic debt and end the cycle of rebirth by eventually disappearing into Brahman- the ultimate state of bliss and peace being one with god. According to Hinduism, there are three ways to break this cycle:- *see image*

Do you really have peace seeing as you're stuck in this endless cycle of life and rebirth?

Can we ever really be good enough to be perfect and end the cycle?

Did these gods really put you on the earth to have you stuck in such an endless cycle just to do some "good" deeds and          mindlessly devote yourself to one of the 330 million of them just to extinguish one day?

VS what JESUS OFFERS...

Romans 11:6 reads, "And since it is through God’s kindness, then it is not by their good works. For in that case, God’s grace would not be what it really is—free and undeserved."

Jesus tells us that salvation is NOT earned and does not have to be worked towards. It is a FREE gift. We will NEVER succeed at ridding ourselves of sin. None of us are perfect and we all fail- whether it's minor things or major things. But JESUS, was perfect. He fulfilled the law of the Old Testament that none of us could perfectly fulfill so that He could pay the price we could never pay!

Jesus paid the price we deserved to offer us freedom and salvation in Him!

ISLAM

Islam teaches that it is the original religion from the time of creation. The story of creation that they teach is very similar to Christianity. HOWEVER, much of what is taught is very different. Let's take look at the differences. If you consider yourself a Muslim, put your beliefs to the test. If you're sure, your way is the right way, then you have nothing to lose by reading further, and can prove me wrong! But maybe, just maybe, here, your eyes will be opened and you'll gain everything. Click through the slides to hear more of the TRUTH....

The Angel Gabriel?

Muhammad claims that the angel Gabriel gave him the Quran.

Notice this scripture in the Bible:

2 Corinthians 11:13-14 reads, "For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light."

Muhammad may have claimed that an angel appeared to him, but according to this scripture, it was actually Satan, disguising himself as an angel of light.

We know this because Satan is the father of lies (John 8:44) and the scripture of the Bible is THE TRUTH (John 17:7). Therefore, whatever goes against the Word of God is a LIE. Keep reading through the slides to see how the Quran goes against what is taught within the Bible.

The Bible VS the Quran

Islam teaches that Allah was the sources of both the Bible and the Quran.

1.) The Tawrat (Torah), given to Moses

2.) The Zabur (Psalms), given to David

3.) The Injil (Gospel), given to Jesus

4.) The Koran, given to Muhammad

Islam teaches that a majority of the Bible that Christians have today was given by Allah, however, they teach that the first 3 books (the Torah, Psalms, & the Gospel), were corrupted.

So, "to correct the errors", Muhammad received the Quran. The Quran is taught that it supersedes all previous revelation, and Allah has preserved it from corruption.

If you are Muslim and believe this to be true, let me ask you this question:

If all books were originally true and given by Allah, who is able to preserve his word, why is he able to keep the Quran free from corruption, but wasn't able to preserve the first three?

If you still question the validity of the Bible, click here: scientific/historical  .

Prophets?

Since Islam teaches that it was the original religion from the time of creation, it is also taught that Adam was the first prophet.

Furthermore, it is also believed in this religion that others in the Bible like David, Moses, John the Baptist, and Jesus were prophets. The focus is mainly on Muhammad because they consider him to be the last and greatest prophet also known as the "seal of the prophets".

If people like John the Baptist were prophets of Allah, why does John the Baptist point to Jesus being the Son of God (John 1:29)? And why does Jesus claim to be the Son of God (Mark 14:61-62) (we also see this  clearly exhibited as Jesus references Exodus 3:14 in John 8:58)?

These people such as John the Baptist, David, and Moses were prophets, but were prophets of God (Jesus)! They testified of Jesus as the Son of God.

JESUS vs ALLAH

Works vs Grace

The Quran teaches that "good deeds will cancel out bad deeds" but no one ever knows how much is enough.

Whereas, Jesus tells His children (Christians):

Ephesians 2:8 states, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God"

As a Christian, I don't have to "earn" my salvation by my works, but I simply receive from Jesus! It's by grace through faith that I am saved.

Assurance?

Islam teaches that they may "hope" Allah will forgive them, but they can not be sure. Sura 33:102-103 says that they can not know they have salvation until judgment day. One can obey the Islamic law but can not be sure of their salvation.

Whereas, Jesus tells His children (Christians):

1 John 5:11-13 states, "And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life."

As a Christian, I KNOW if I have eternal life or not. Jesus does not let us wallow in hopelessness but gives us the hope through assurance in our salvation. Jesus gives me that assurance, because I can not earn my salvation, but Jesus freely gives it.

Mercy?

Allah is called "forgiving" and "merciful" in the Koran, but it seems as though forgiveness and mercy are not applied to the sinner's account. Sura 3:52 says that Allah does not love sinners. And, unfortunately, we all sin! None are perfect, and we all fail.

Whereas, Jesus tells His Children (Christians)...

Romans 5:8 states, "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Impersonal VS Personal

Muslims can also not have a personal relationship with Allah.

Whereas, Jesus tells His Children (Christians)...

Revelation 3:20 states, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me."

Ephesians 2:13- "But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ."

Jesus literally died to remove the separation of sin so that He can have a relationship with us!

NOW, answer these questions...

Flip through these questions and answer honestly...

#1 What do you think happens after death?

Where do we go? Where will YOU go?

#2 Think of it like this:

Let's say this man murdered 3 men. He stands in front of the judge and says "Judge, I know that was wrong. But I served at the soup kitchen last Tuesday, helped an old lady cross the street yesterday, and bought a homeless man a meal last week."

Is the judge going to let him go?

- No of course not. If the judge did let him go, we'd say that's not a very good judge, right? Right. He can't just let the guilty man go because he's sorry and because he did a few good deeds. They may be a "good person" in some ways and be sorry, but they still have to endure the punishment.

#3 Do you think you're a "good" person? Let's put your goodness to the test...

- How many lies do you think you've told in your life?

Lots, probably, right? We all have- some more than others, but truth is that we all have told a lie.

Scripture tells us that "lying lips are an abomination to the Lord."(Proverbs 12:22).

- Jesus said, "Whoever looks at a woman with lust has committed adultery with her in his heart." (Matthew 5:28). Have you ever done that?

- Have you ever taken the Lord's name in vain? Even just once?

- Have you ever dishonored your parents? Even Just once?

We've all committed these things. We have all sinned. Therefore, when we stand before God on judgment day, and if he judges us according to these things, will you be innocent or guilty?

GUILTY. We all are.

#4 But, here's the GOOD news...

We are declared guilty for our sins according to the law. But there is One that fulfilled that law for us because we aren't perfect and can not on our own. This man, Jesus, is perfect, so He could fulfill the law and therefore, took our place! Jesus was mocked, beaten, whipped, crucified, and suffered taking the punishment of our sins. We broke the Law, so Jesus fulfilled it and paid our penalty with His life's blood. Now, He is alive today offering us this FREE gift. This means that now, God can dismiss our case. We simply must receive this FREE gift of salvation that Jesus is offering to us. We must believe in Jesus alone (Romans 10:9), and then repent, which means to simply turn from our sin and turn to Jesus.

Are you ready to turn from your sins and turn to Jesus?

CATHOLICISM

Catholicism is considered a denomination of Christianity. However, there are many misconstrued ideas.

Things can get twisted within the Catholic Church. That is not just an opinion but can be explained and demonstrated according to the Word of God.  So, continue to read further to hear the TRUTH.

If you are reading this and consider yourself Catholic, let me first preface, there are saved Catholics. However, sometimes the misinterpretation of the Word of God can lead people astray. Therefore, click through the questions below and answer honestly..

Question #1

Do you believe that Jesus came from Heaven to Earth, was born of a virgin, lived a perfect and sinless life, died on the cross for our sins so that we could have a PERSONAL relationship with Him and is now alive today?

Romans 10:9 - "if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."

Question #2

Do you believe that salvation is through JESUS ALONE?

John 14:6- "Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me."

Question #3

Do you believe that in order to have a relationship with Jesus we must also REPENT, which simply means to turn from all of our sin and turn to Him? And are you living that out?

1 John 3:9- "Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God."

Question #4

Do you believe that we are not automatically saved at baptism or confirmation, but it's by BELIEF and REPENTANCE where we have a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with Jesus?

Question #5

If you died right now, on a scale of one to ten, how sure are you that you would go to heaven?

If you were anything less than a 10, ask yourself, why aren't you assured? - Would your life not be pleasing to God? Are you living in sin? Do you know Jesus personally? The Bible says that we can have this assurance.

1 John 5:11-13 states, "And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.

If you said a 10, why?- If your answer had anything to do with you or your works or confirmation or baptism, etc, then you should be concerned. Why? -

Ephesians 2:8-9 reads, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."

Salvation is nothing we could ever earn. We GET to receive salvation through belief and repentance. BUT, It's only by the cross we can ever have assurance in our salvation, not of our works.

If you answered honestly and answered YES to questions 1-4, and a 10 to question 5, then according to the Word of God, you are saved!

If your answer was not "yes" to these questions, keep reading further.

Maybe you’re saved but you consider yourself Catholic, still keep reading further.

Put your beliefs to the test.

If you're sure, your way is the right way, then you have nothing to lose by reading further, and can prove me wrong! But maybe, just maybe, here, your eyes will be opened and you'll gain everything. Click through the tabs to keep reading and hear TRUTH....

Works or Faith?

According to the Catholic church, Canon 9, Council of Trent reads, "If anyone saith, that man is truly absolved from his sins and justified.... and that, by this faith alone, absolution and justification are effected; let him be anathema."

- In simpler terms... If anyone says that a person is forgiven of their sins and made right with God by faith alone, let them be cursed.

According to Par. 1821 of the Catechism, it reads, "In every circumstance, each one of us should hope, with the grace of God to preserve 'to the end' and to obtain the joy of heaven, as God's eternal reward for the good works accomplished with the grace of Christ."

- In simpler terms... In every situation, we should hope—with God’s help—to stay faithful until the end and receive the joy of heaven as a reward for the good things we’ve done through Christ’s grace.

The Catholic church teaches that heaven is a reward for our good works.

Whereas the Bible reads in Ephesians 2:8-9, "God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it."

AND

Romans 11:6 reads, "And since it is through God’s kindness, then it is not by their good works. For in that case, God’s grace would not be what it really is—free and undeserved."

As according to the Scriptures, salvation is a FREE gift- one we don't have to work for or earn, but it is by grace through faith!

Tradition=Belief??

The Catholic belief is to hold the traditions found with the Catholic Catechism very highly and their traditions equal to the Word of God.

BUT, what does the Bible say about this?

CATHOLIC BELIEF:

Catholicism has almost the same Bible as the original official canon of Judaism. They have added the Apocrypha, which is a group of books the Catholic church added to the Old Testament.

Moreover, par. 82 of the Catholic Catechism reads, "Both Scripture and Tradition must be accepted and honored with equal sentiments of devotion and reverence."

THE BIBLE:

Deuteronomy 4:2 - "You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you."

Jesus tells the Pharisees in Mark 7:7-9, " 'And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men —the washing of pitchers and cups, and many other such things you do.' He said to them, 'All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.'"

Paul in Galatians 1:13-14 says, "For you have heard of my former conduct in Judaism, how I persecuted the church of God beyond measure and tried to destroy it. And I advanced in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries in my own nation, being more exceedingly zealous for the traditions of my fathers."

Scripture and tradition within the catholic church hold equal weight. God's divine Word is equal to man's traditions??

The Pharisees within the Bible are the very ones who tended to hold tradition over God's commands and are the same people Jesus rebuked for it in Mark 7:7-9 as seen above.

According to Scripture found within the Word of God, should tradition hold the same weight as Scripture? No. The Pharisees are the prime example of that.

Jesus makes it VERY clear, and the verses stated above are prime examples of how Jesus feels about it.

Priests?

Catholicism also teaches confession of sins unto a priest.

BUT, the Bible teaches us that in the New Covenant, all believers are priests.

1 Peter 2:5 reads, "you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. "

Revelation 1:5-6- "To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father

In the Old Covenant, priests were mediators between man and God. The priests offered sacrifices to God on behalf of the people. However, that is no longer necessary, because of Jesus’ sacrifice!

Hebrews 4:16 reads "Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need."

When Jesus died on the cross, the temple veil tore into two (Luke 23:45), symbolizing that the dividing wall between God and humanity was destroyed. We can approach God directly, ourselves, without the use of a human mediator.

This is because Hebrews 4:14 reads, "Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession." - Jesus is our high priest!

The New Testament teaches that there are to be elders (1 Timothy 3:1-7Titus 1:6-9), deacons (1 Timothy 3:8-13), and pastors (Ephesians 4:11) – but priests are not mentioned because we, as Christians, are all priests.

Only Jesus, our high priest is mentioned. We are to go directly to Him! He died for us to have that relationship with Him- where we didn't have to go through man, but can go directly to Him!

The Rock

Catholicism believes the church was built upon Peter, whom they believe was the first pope. They gather this from the scripture in Matthew 16:18 where Jesus changes Simon's name to Peter which means 'rock'.

However, let's look at Peter's words:

1 Peter 2:6-8: "Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture, 'Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, elect, precious, and he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.' Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient, the stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone,' and A stone of stumbling and a rock of offense.'”

Additionally, Paul in Ephesians 2:20 writes, "Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone"

Peter and Paul points to Jesus being the rock and cornerstone of the church.

A DIFFERENT 10 COMMANDMENTS?

Click through the two tabs below and take notice the slight difference between the two sets of 10 Commandments. Hint -look at the 2nd Commandment...

Catholic 10 Commandments

The Catechism states that the Ten Commandments are:

1. I am the Lord your God: You shall not have strange Gods before me.

2. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.

3. Remember to keep holy the Lord’s Day.

4. Honor your father and mother.

5. You shall not kill.

6. You shall not commit adultery.

7. You shall not steal.

8. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

9. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife.

10. You shall not covet your neighbor’s goods.

The Bible 10 Commandments

Exodus 20:1-17 states that the Ten Commandments are:

1. You shall have no other gods before Me.

2. You shall not make idols.

3. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.

4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

5. Honor your father and your mother.

6. You shall not murder.

7. You shall not commit adultery.

8. You shall not steal.

9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

10. You shall not covet.

Notice the slight difference between the two ->

According to the Bible, the 2nd commandment is, "You shall not make idols" - which is NOT found anywhere in the Catholic Catechism.

Instead, the Catechism takes out the 2nd commandment and separates the 10th commandment into two separate commands.

So what's so important about "You shall not make idols"?

Could it be that they intentionally took it out because in the Catholic church, they bow down to and give homage to statues of the saints, angels, Mary, etc?

PRAYER?

The Catholic church also believes in praying to those who, because of their good works, have been exalted to sainthood after their death. It is believed that when you pray to these saints, they will intercede on your behalf. However click through the tabs below to see what the Bible says:

To WHOM is prayer to?

Psalm 50:15- "Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”

God said to call upon HIM - not others.

When the disciples asked Jesus how to pray Jesus taught them in Matthew 6:9 in which He prayed, "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name."

Jesus taught that prayer is to the Father alone- not anyone or anything else.

Advocate

1 John 1:2- "we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous."

The Scriptures clearly state that Jesus is our advocate.

Mediator

1 Timothy 2:5 reads, "or there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus"

The Scriptures clearly states that there is ONE mediator between God and men.

Intercessor

Romans 8:34- "It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us."

Hebrews 7:25- "Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them."

The Scriptures clearly state that Jesus is our intercessor.

Let's say the saints were 'scriptural'. So, if I had to ask anyone to intercede on my behalf it would be Jesus! If I had to bet on one person, it would be Him. However, the truth is, NO scripture shows that followers of Jesus should pray to the saints. Scripture clearly reveals that prayer is to Jesus alone. He is our mediator, our advocate, and our intercessor!

MARY

Mary plays a prominent role within the Catholic Church. Scroll through the tabs below to take a look at what the Word of God says in comparison to what the Catholic Church believes about Mary...

Perfection?

The Catholic Church believes that Mary was "conceived immaculate" (Born without original sin) and that she was "kept free from every personal sin her whole life long. She is the one who is 'full of grace', 'the all holy'" (Compendium, Catechism of the Catholic Church, p.31, par. 96-97).

vs what the Bible says...

Mark 10:18 reads, "So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God."

1 John 3:5 reads, "And you know that Jesus came to take away our sins, and there is no sin in him."

Romans 3:23 reads, "or all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"

There is not one that is good but God. Mary is not God. Therefore, she could not be born without being born into sin. AND no one is perfect but Jesus, therefore, she could also not be kept free from every personal sin.

Virgin

The Catholic Church believes Mary remained a virgin after giving birth to Jesus.

vs what the Bible says...

Matthew 13:55- "Is this not the carpenter’s son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas?"

Scripture says that Mary had other children after she bore Jesus.

Offer Salvation

Par. 969 of the Catholic Catechism reads, "Taken up to heaven she did not lay aside this saving office but by her manifold intercession continues to bring us the gifts of eternal salvation...."

As seen above, the Catholic Church teaches that Mary offers salvation.

vs what the Bible says...

John 14:6- "Jesus said to Him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

Acts 4:10,12- "that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth... Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."

ONLY Jesus saves!  ONLY Jesus can offer salvation.

Titles

Par 969 of the Catholic Catechism reads, "...... Therefore the Blessed Virgin is invoked in the Church under the titles of Advocate, Helper, Benefactress, and Mediatrix."

vs what the Bible says....

ADVOCATE:

1 John 1:2- "We have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous."

The Scriptures clearly state that Jesus is our advocate.

HELPER:

John 14:26- "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you."

This Scriptures clearly states that the Holy Spirit is our Helper!

BENEFACTOR:

Psalm 103:2- " Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits:"

Philippians 4:19- "And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

The Scriptures clearly states that God is our benefactor. He is the provider! He is Jehovah- Jireh, meaning "the Lord will provide" (Gen. 22:14).

INTERCESSOR:

1 Timothy 2:5 reads, "or there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus"

The Scripture clearly states that there is ONE mediator between God and men- JESUS.

ONLY Jesus is the ADVOCATE, HELPER, BENEFACTOR, and MEDIATOR.

Queen of Heaven?

The Catholic Church also refers to Mary as the "Queen of Heaven".

vs what the Bible says...

Jeremiah 7:18 - "The children gather wood, the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead dough, to make cakes for the queen of heaven; and they pour out drink offerings to other gods, that they may provoke Me to anger."

The Lord explicitly calls out those who "bake cakes for the queen of heaven" as those making offerings to other gods.

Figure of the Church

The Compendium, Catechism of the Catholic Church, p.32, par. 100 reads, "... Virgin and Mother, Mary is the figure of the Church, its most perfect realization."

vs what the Bible says...

Colossians 1:16-18 reads, "...All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence."

Ephesians 1:22-23 reads, "and He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all."

JESUS is the head of the church, NOT MARY. JESUS is the "figure of the church" and "its most perfect realization". Apart from Him we have no church. More than this, apart from Him we have to salvation and no faith.

After reading each section, truly be honest with yourself and ask yourself- what do you think of contradictions clearly stated between the WORD of GOD vs Catholic TRADITION?

NOW, answer these questions...

Flip through these questions and answer honestly...

#1 What do you think happens after death? Where are you going?

You may say "purgatory"- but there is actually ZERO mention of this in the Bible.

Matthew 13:49-50 reads, "So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just, and cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth."

"Wicked from among the just" - Not the wicked, half wicked half just, and just. One or the other- evil or just. There's no in between.

Matthew 25:46 reads, "And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

Everlasting punishment (hell) OR eternal life (heaven)

So, where do you think you'll go- heaven or hell? - Those are the only options.

#2 Do you think you are a good person?

Mark 10:18 reads, "So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God."

There is not one that's good but God!

#3 Let's put your goodness to the test...

How many lies do you think you've told in your life?

- Lots, probably, right? We all have- some more than others, but truth is that we all have told a lie.

- Scripture tells us that "lying lips are an abomination to the Lord."(Proverbs 12:22).

Jesus said, "Whoever looks at a woman with lust has committed adultery with her in his heart." (Matthew 5:28). Have you ever done that?

Have you ever taken the Lord's name in vain? Even just once?

Have you ever dishonored your parents? Even Just once?

#4 You must face God on judgment day. If God judges you by the Ten Commandments, will you be innocent or guilty?

We'd all be guilty. There's not one person that hasn't sinned, except Jesus.

Therefore, by the Ten Commandments, we all deserve hell.

If you did not answer the 5 questions at the beginning of this section with a YES or a 10...

Does it concern you that if you died right now, you'd go to hell?

Does it concern you that you're not assured in your salvation?

#5 Think of it like this...

This is the bad news: We've all sinned and we all deserve the punishment for our sins, which is hell. BUT, this is the good news: Jesus came and took our place! We stood in the court room awaiting our punishment and Jesus said "No, I'll take the punishment for them."

#6 This is the GOOD News...

We are declared guilty for our sins according to the law. But there was One that fulfilled that law for us because we aren't perfect and can not on our own. This man, Jesus, is perfect, so He could fulfill the law, and therefore took our place! We simply must receive this FREE gift of salvation that Jesus is offering to us by believing in Jesus alone (Romans 10:9), and repenting, which means to simply turn from our sin and turn to Jesus.

Are you ready to turn from your sins and turn to Jesus?
