JESUS.
Sin separates us from God. We all have sinned. It might be big or small- a lie or murder- but we've all sinned somehow. The earthly consequences of sin might vary depending on each sin, but the spiritual consequence is the same for every sin. The Bible says that the wages (what you earn) of sin is death (Rom. 6:23). We earn death by our sin. We earn eternal separation from God by our sin.
ONE sin is enough to separate us from God.

BUT HERE'S THE GOOD NEWS:
Jesus does not just leave us in the state of sin, but gives us a way out.
JESUS, who is GOD, came down from heaven to earth, was born of a virgin, and lived a perfect and sinless life for 33 years. Jesus was beaten and crucified on the cross. He was buried, and 3 days later He rose again and is now alive today knocking on the door of all of our hearts.
Jesus lived the life we could never live and fulfilled the standard of perfection FOR US.
THEN, He died the death that WE deserved.
Jesus did not just die to get you out of hell. He died to remove the sin that was separating us from Him. He died to have a relationship with us.
AND He's not dead like every other god, but is ALIVE today!! (there's proof of that too- keep reading for more of that info if you don't believe me;) )

#1- BELIEVE
Romans 10:9 says, "Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord and believes in their heart that God raised them from the dead they shall be saved."
BUT, not only believe, because James 2:19 says, "You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!"
If even the demons believe, then what makes us different? - REPENTANCE
#2- REPENT
Repentance simply means to turn away from your sin and turn to Jesus.
1 John 3:9. reads, "Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life is in them."
This does NOT mean you will be perfect- for all fall short of the glory of God (Rom. 3:23), but as a CHILD of God (a Christian), you will NOT live in cycles of sin.

If you owed the bank a million dollars and I gave you a check for that amount, and you gave it to the bank, what would happen to your debt?
It would be paid in full- completely cleared!
That's what Jesus did when He died on the cross for you. He wrote you a check signed in HIS blood- with YOUR name on it. He was buried and 3 days later, rose again, and today, He is standing at the door of your heart wanting you to cash it in.
But ONLY you can make that decision.
Salvation is a free gift- one we could never earn nor deserve. Jesus is a gentleman. He will never force Himself into your heart. Every gift is FREE, but you have to receive it.
How do you receive it or "cash it in"? - By the two things: BELIEF and REPENTANCE.

In the beginning God created the heavens, the earth, and humanity (Adam and Eve). He placed Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, where there was no sin. Gen. 3:8 says that God walked in the cool of the day with Adam. They had perfect relationship together with no separation.
However, in this garden, God placed a tree in the middle that Adam and Eve were not to eat from. Why? Because He wanted to give Adam and Eve free will to choose to obey or not. Why? Because love can not be forced. God wanted to give Adam and Eve a choice.
They chose to go against God, which is sin. This forced them out of the Garden. Sin separates us from God.
God could not stand this separation so He sent Jesus, the son of God, who came down from heaven to earth. He was born as a baby from a virgin, conceived by the Holy Spirit. He lived a perfect and sinless life for 33 years- one you or I could never live.
Jesus was beaten, mocked, and crucified on a cross for OUR sins. We are the ones who sinned- He did not. He took the death that we deserved.
He was buried and 3 days later, Jesus rose again from the dead. Now, He sits in heaven at the right hand of God praying for YOU.
Jesus knew that our sin separated us from Him and He so badly desired to have that relationship with us that He gave His own life so we could have a relationship with Him with NO separation.
We too have a choice. We have free will to receive Jesus or not. Jesus is a gentleman and will not force His way into your heart.
Jesus said YOU were worth the pain of the cross. Revelation 3:20 says that He is alive today knocking at the door of your heart. Will you open the door?
